ENGAGE: Social innovations in the energy transition

The ENGAGE project investigates the potential of social innovations for a successful and inclusive implementation of the energy transition.

The involvement of citizens increases the acceptance of the energy transition. This is where the ENGAGE research project comes in: The project explores the potential of social innovations in the energy transition and thus enables a successful and inclusive transformation. The aim of ENGAGE is to use and expand the participation potential of social innovations in the energy transition by, on the one hand, facilitating the social or financial commitment of citizens in energy transition projects and, on the other hand, promoting the further development of new social innovation projects in this area. For this purpose, the Energiewende-O-Mat was developed – Germany’s central contact point and interactive decision-making aid for interested citizens who want to get involved in an energy transition project based on their geographical, technological, financial or social preferences.

Energiewende-O-Mat is now online. With the online tool Energiewende-O-Mat you can find out how you can participate in the energy transition and find suitable projects in your area.
